NOTE: We handcraft our products to order, but orders are shipped within a week of payment verification.

Even if you do not submit your order via the internet, be sure to make use of our shopping cart and order system before sending payment. We can not fill orders where needed information is missing. Our online catalog is designed to make it easy to make sense of the wide range of items and options we can handcraft for you.

30 Day Money Back Guarantee

We offer a Money Back Guarantee within 30 days of purchase for unworn items. Contact us via internet or phone (860-741-2965) with the reason for the return to obtain an authorize code and return instructions. Unauthorized returns or expired authorizations will be subject to a restocking fee. Shipping and handling fees are not refundable, and all returns must be in resalable condition. Returns not in pristine condition upon arrival at our facility may be eligible for a partial refund or in-store credit.
Due to health concerns, we are unable to accept returns on items from piercing chains or bottoms categories and $2 will be deducted on returned pierced earrings for replacement of those parts. Items made with other than the available options are not returnable.

If your order doesn't fit as desired, please contact us. We may need additional measurements to be sure of the adjustments to make. Very often, we are able to provide information to correct problems long distance.

We have a Lifetime Warranty on our workmanship. Should anything we make break without misuse it will be fixed at no additional charge. This warranty does not include shipping or any components we do not make ourselves, but we will do our best to right any problems. You must Contact us for instructions before sending anything back.

Return Shipping Instructions:
Items should be returned in the original packaging with a copy of the sales receipt. Be sure to insure return shipments as we are not able to fix, refund or exchange items which we don't receive. We make all our products with care so please be sure to package them properly when shipping them back to us and do not send them through the Post Office's letter handling machinery. This means DO NOT throw it in a letter envelope and toss it in a mailbox! We will no longer credit items which have been shipped to us in this way. Some or all of the value of damaged items will be deducted if we need to repair them due to improper packaging or shipping.

Rush orders

We handcraft our orders within a week of payment verification. However, orders needed faster than that often cause us to work long, unplanned hours of overtime and typically an extra trip to the Post Office. Urgent customer deadlines require a non-refundable surcharge of 20% on orders which must go out within 1-2 days (the vast majority of <$175 Express orders are made and shipped within 3 days). This is a special service to our customers. Chainmail work is very time consuming and this option pays us FAR below overtime rates.

If you need your order to be shipped within a day or two, be sure you have already chosen USPS Express as your shipping method (Don't ask us to work overtime hours for you just so something can be delayed in the mail. If it's not worth it to you, why would it be worth it to us?) and check the Rush Manufacturing option next to it. If we are unable to make your order in time, we will not charge your card for the surcharge amount, but you must tell us when placing the order if you need us to cancel it should that happen.

We can not be held responsible for delays by the Post Office as those are out of our control and have nothing to do with the rush manufacturing service. Orders where we would not be paid for the time we spend making it because of something beyond our control will be canceled outright. This is especially true for rush requests as that time would be overtime hours cut out of our personal time.

Shipping & handling methods and charges

We always ship discreetly and do not share our mailing list.
Do not send your special delivery instructions to us as only you, the recipient, can give them to your local mail carrier. Larger orders are sent signature required - again, make any needed arrangements with your Postal deliverer.

Remember that we have to handcraft your order before we can ship it. Allow 1-3 days per item for this, but all orders are handcrafted within a week of payment verification. We are not responsible for Post Office delivery times and will refuse any order insisting on this as that implies we may not be paid for our time and hard work because of something beyond our control.

Shipping and handling for delivery within the United States are based upon the amount of your order and includes insurance and delivery confirmation where possible. Our standard shipping method is USPS Priority. The Post Office estimates delivery by this method to take 3-4 days. USPS Express is available for an additional $15.00 charge and should take 1-2 days, depending on area. Please see the Post Office Website for more information on these methods. We do put priority on the making of Express orders, but rush manufacturing is a separate service.

Shipping and handling rates for orders larger than shown may be higher, but we will OK higher amounts with the customer before charging them.

Non-US customers take full responsibility for any additional customs, taxes, etc.
Usually we must calculate international postage and handling charges manually after receiving the order request due to the wide range of weights due to item options. We will email final totals in such cases and require explicit authorization from the customer accepting those charges and policies. We will not begin making an order until this is received.

Orders outside of the United States

We are accepting only US and Canadian orders at this time. All orders must be paid in US dollars. Occasional exceptions may be made for payment by International money order. Bank transfers are possible only in the case of large enough orders to make the costs worthwhile.

Due to a great deal of extra processing time despite much lower profit margins, we are not accepting overseas orders. Business-wise, it just doesn't make sense to lose so much time on sales which cost even more to process than to make.

Sales tax

We collect 6.35% sales tax on orders delivered within the state of Connecticut. We are not responsible for collecting sales taxes on items shipped to other areas.

    Credit card
    We accept Discover, Visa and Master Card through our own merchant account. This means that Chainmail and More, will appear on your statement. We do not charge a card until after we have personally reviewed and handcrafted the order, thereby avoiding many common, automated mistakes. To ensure safety and privacy, our online order system is setup through a secure server and protected by proven PGP encryption. Additionally, we never store credit card numbers on an internet accessible server. We can accept credit card payments sent via phone or mail after the item information has been put through our order system. Credit card orders are usually made and shipped within 2 business days of verification.

    Our policy is to verbally confirm and check card information of many orders at a bank verified phone number before shipping.
    Companies doing business on the internet are targets for a great many fraud attempts. We protect ourselves and our customers from these by requiring such information as is needed to verify that the person placing the order is the actual cardholder. This also means that gift cards must have the address attached to them which can usually be done on the issuer's website.

    Credit cards are NOT the same as cash. If it later turns out that there was a problem with the credit card, that money is not only taken from us, but we are also fined and subjected to possible rate increases. This makes it very unlikely that we will accept a credit card as payment for very large orders. If we do, further verifications from the bank as well as the customer will be required.

    Credit card orders will only ever be shipped to a bank verified name and address, and the phone number must match for confirmation purposes. If unable to accept a package at your billing address, call your issuing bank and add the shipping address as an alternate. Place the order with the added address as billing and mention it's seondary in the comment box so we don't accidentally cancel it. If these policies are unacceptable, you much use a different payment method or not order at all. If provided information is found to be inaccurate the user may be banned.

    Money Order/Certified check
    You may submit an order from our website then mail a money order or certified/bank check for the final total. US Postal money orders are usually shipped 2-3 days after we receive payment. Others may take 10 days or so to clear. Make payable to Chainmail & More. Be certain that the order number is included if you are mailing in your order.

    Non-US orders must be paid in US dollars and drawn on a US bank. We can also accept Travelers Express, Travelers' Checks, and Western Union money orders. We are able to process Canadian and Japanese international postal money orders drawn in US dollars.

    Bank or Wire Transfer
    We are able to accept US bank transfers as a payment option for mid-sized to large orders. This secure solution is as fast as a credit card for large orders. It bypasses the credit card verification requirements, and we begin handcrafting the items as soon as we are informed it has been sent.

    A bank transfer is a common option for US military residing overseas as transfers between US banks are inexpensive while allowing us to ship to an alternate address. All transfer fees and costs related to the transfer from outside our own bank are payable by the payee, but high fees generally only apply to non-US banks.

    We accept US personal and business checks. Please submit the order form from our website and send the check via snailmail. Make checks payable to Chainmail & More and be certain that all item options and shipping information or order numbe is included with the payment. Returned checks are subject to a return check fee of $15.

    Out of state checks are held for a month to insure that funds clear. Our bank's policy doesn't allow us to see if a check has cleared for a month after depositing it. For prompt service, please pay by debit card, bank transfer or send a money order or certified check.

    After 3 years with no complaints, PayPal suddenly stopped allowing us to accept payments, claiming that our products are against their terms of service. However, they refuse to say in what way or which products.
    Despite repeated assurances that email and account information was not only canceled but deleted 5 years ago, we continue to be spammed by official PayPal emails.

Discount Information

Our website prices reflect manufacturer discounts. We do not offer wholesale discounts in addition to that since our website prices easily handle regular and heavy markups in retail environments.

We do offer discounts under some circumstances, usually to members of groups we have been involved with. If you have been given a discount code and wish to use it on your online order, it must be entered in the "Group" field on the Checkout page with your group membership number (if applicable) entered in the "Member #" field. Discounts only apply to standard prices and can not be combined with any other special offer.

Chainmail & More assumes no responsibility for unsafe, improper or illegal use of our products. Our products are sold for fashion and novelty use only.

We can not be held responsible for typographic or pricing errors. However, our policy is to always get explicit acceptance of a higher price before we will process it. The handcrafted nature of our products may result in subtle variations from piece to piece.

This is our art as well as our job. Our creations are handcrafted in limited quantities. We personally review all order requests and reserve the right to decline any for any reason regardless of any confirmation receipt sent.

Our products are original works of art. As with any art, viewing and/or receiving an item does not constitute the right to reproduce it. We are not currently licensing our designs for reproduction by anyone else.
